Concerto Networks Ireland
Michael Cotter, Founder and Managing Director
Michael Cotter joined Concerto Networks in January 2006 as Managing Director of the Master Franchise for Ireland. Accepting the fourth international master franchise license awarded by Concerto Networks, he brings more than twenty years of technical, entrepreneurial, leadership and business experience to his position with the company.
Michael first learned of Concerto Networks through his online research of franchise opportunities. Michael was immediately interested in the unique business model described by the Concerto Networks representatives. Michael’s own experience and research supported the need that Concerto Networks had identified existed in the small- to- medium sized business marketplace, the need for branded, reliable and consistent quality technical support, going well beyond simple break-fix repair services. Michael had been looking at running his own business technology company and upon discovering Concerto Networks he saw this as an opportunity to accomplish his goal by utilizing the essential support and tools provided by Concerto Networks. Now he would not have to operate alone. He also shared the enthusiasm of the other franchise owners and master franchise owners to become the leading name brand for small to medium sized business internationally. After researching the business opportunity and the potential for growth in Ireland, he was confident that Concerto Networks was the best choice. Soon after, Michael was awarded the Master Franchise license for Ireland. Michael began operations of his franchise in June 2006 after completing training at Concerto Networks headquarters in San Diego, CA. His headquarter office is located in Cork but his plans are to develop Concerto Networks franchises to provide service throughout Ireland.
Prior to coming on board with Concerto Networks, Michael spent sixteen years in the technology industry most recently as a technology consultant working in Cork, Ireland. In this role he provided system administration, network migration, server compliance, technology support and project management for industry leading companies in the private and public sectors. In his various roles as a project manager and technology consultant, Michael held a variety of technical responsibilities but also most importantly worked with a variety of clientele to develop their technology platforms and service their business needs. Michael’s technology career got its start in London, England as a Computer Coordinator for a prominent retail organization and just seven short years later he had worked his way up to the role of European Technology Director for Herald Communications, an international public relations firm, in London before deciding to relocate back to his homeland in Ireland. Michael is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer 2003 (MCSE) and holds a BA (Hons) Systems Analysis from the University of the West of England, Bristol.
